Sunday marked an important anniversary in my life. An anniversary in which many ways that I looked at life changed. While I drove back from Arkansas with one of my best friends, Terrell, I realized that the way I look and feel about life had changed significantly.

I'm at a point in my life where there are only really four truths.

  1. No one really cares about your life and happiness except you. Friends and family can only add to your happiness but it is up to you to facilitate it.
  2. You're really not a friend unless you are willing to help out those you are calling a friend. If you need a thank you, require compensation, or need it to hang over someone's head you aren't really a friend. I'm glad I got friends like Terrell and like a bunch of you reading this blog.
  3. Time heals all wounds but scars and memories always remain. All you can do is accept the scars and live a life that does make them limitations or barriers.
  4. The things that matter in life (love, happiness, fun, family, friends) are always going to be important to me. But its up to me to value them too.
