Trends: 8 Bit Jewelry

Feeling inspired by rappers like Lupe Fiasco & Big Sean, one of the newest trends in urban wear is  8bit jewelry; pieces that look as were digital. Most of the pieces that you'll see are of things symbolic of the 1980s and 1990s, when digitized creations were actually processed in 8 bits.

If you want one of these, you gotta holler at my boy Tyrell @youngslapz on Twitter.

Cold Weather Essentials

This is actually from my other blog project Sharp Dressed Brotha, but with Black Friday in the past and colder weather approaching, I felt the idea of dressing stylish for the cold weather was a good idea for the blog.

When the weather gets cold, the best accessories come out. Its never to early to start planning for the look you'll be sporting for winter. And if you enjoy staying warm and fly then here are a few looks that you might want to think about.

Feet:

I'm not saying that Timberland's Wheat 6 inches are dead and you should move away towards these retro-chic boots. In fact, Drake had on a similar pair of black boots in the "Money To Blow" video (which coincidentally, those are actually Timberland's).

From left to right: The Ascot, $235, by Wolverine 1000 Mile. Abington Guide Boot, $180, by Timberland. 6" Classic Moc Lug, $230, by Red Wing Shoes, Heritage Work Collection.

Or you can get your Wale on and cop these Nike boots.

Coats & Vest:

You need a vest. I don't care how you feel about the trendiness of the down vest, having one in your closet will dramatically add life to those hoody's that you wear everywhere. But you also want to protect those arms somedays, so add a nice puffer jacket to the closet when you can (word to the wise, you can still rock a snorkel but DO NOT WEAR IT EVERYDAY AND TO EVERY EVENT. You have to add diversity to the closet.)

Gloves:
When I was a kid, I hated mittens because they couldn't make good snowballs. Well as an adult, nothing sets off a smart (and safe) winter outfit better than a good pair of mittens of winter gloves. My favs are these from Eddie Bauer. For the nice and adult look, add a scarf to it.

Hats:
Lastly, you need a good hat on if you are going to brave the elements. These Ralph Lauren Polo hats give you a nice casual look with the classic Polo feel. Mix it up and try it with a pea coat, the vest, or even the Al Wissam leather coat if thats your thing.

A few pieces that I'm rocking this winter:

Nike release Black History Month sneaker model that aimed to celebrate this month. And for this year (2009) it's using Nike Air Force 1 as the base model with black for the upper, red stitching and inner lining also green accents. It design with lasered graphic on the rear and marble black midsole. But you will not find it in the retail stores, cause it only available in three pairs and that will be give-away in the Nike contest which will be held in Miami, Florida.
